A Look at the Odds in a Game of Baccarat

A smart thing to do before making any form or type of wager in whatever amount in the game of baccarat is to have a quick look at the odds of each bet you can make. Another important factor to look at other than the different bets available in baccarat is the effect of number of decks on the odds of you winning a particular wager in baccarat.

We'll be looking at the different wagers any player can make in the game of baccarat and the effect of having fewer or more decks on the odds of any wager winning in the course of a game. This will advance our betting strategy when we get to try the game out on our own.

When you check out baccarat tables you'll notice that a lot of them would either be played using either six or eight decks. This is an important thing to note, which would also mean that we should look twice on the odds for a six and eight deck baccarat game. Another fact that we should always remember is that there isn't any room for anyone to manipulate the odds in baccarat. This essentially means no amount of card counting will give you an edge against the house since the rules in baccarat are different.

The odds that the house will win in a game of baccarat will boil down to about 45.8% while the players will have the odds of them winning set around 44.6% and this leaves getting a tie every now and then to low 9.5% chance in the game.

Here are the different odds of each of the bets in baccarat according to the number of decks used in a particular game.

In a single deck baccarat game the odds come the worst for most of the bets you can make if you compare it to games that use more decks than one. The baccarat banker bet has a 45.96% winning odds, the player bet has it at 44.68%, and the tie will get 9.36% odds.
